Finding the campground: From Idaho City drive northeast on ID 21 about 9.3 miles. You enter the campground from the highway.
The campground: This is a small campground but given its location near the Boise metro area it is quieter and less crowded than some. Campsites are a little farther away from ID 21 than are those at nearby Ten Mile Campground though access still is easy. It is backed up against hillsides, and Bad Bear Creek bubbles against the back of it. Several fine hiking trails take off from the campground. The area is woodedâmainly with Douglas fir and ponderosa pineâand mountainous, so while hikes in the area are rewarding, they also are for the energetic.
